A Proposal with the Pear Shape Engagement Ring
A lot of guys don’t know how to choose diamonds well, let alone choose a perfect engagement ring. Many don’t
even know that diamonds have different types according to cut and clarity. They just think diamonds are diamonds,
nothing else. They wouldn't know a pear shaped engagement ring from a cushion cut engagement ring. Let me illustrate.
When my guy friend told me that he has was ready to get married and that he was planning to propose to his long
time girlfriend, I was exhilarated. He was excited however he does not know how to get about the proposal. He was
very nervous. He needed the help of a woman, so I came in to the picture.
First we thought of where he plans to propose. I asked him if he wanted it to be seen by many people like an
announcement during the half time of a basketball game or does he want it solemn and simple with just the two of
them to savor the moment. He said he definitely did not want attention from strangers so I suggested that he plan a
sunset picnic proposal.
There is a place, about 45 minutes from our own that is perfect for a proposal. It is a monastery up on a hill
over-looking fields of greener and shrubbery. The sunset there is picture perfect. It is a great idea because it is
not an expensive way to propose. Since he did not know how to cook, I suggested he take out from his favorite fine
dining restaurant. I checked a list of things for him to prepare: the picnic basket, food, video camera, picnic
blanket, wine and wine glass and of course the ring.
The moment I mentioned ring, his thoughts wandered. I asked him why and he told me that he had not thought about
that. I told him that the engagement ring is as important as the girl herself.
This is what a lot of guys fail to do – get a good ring. There are lots of rings you can choose from. The shank
(where your finger goes into) itself has a variety of options. You can choose from different precious metals like
gold, silver, copper, titanium or even a
combination of these metals. The stone also have numerous options. You can choose to put pears, rubies, emeralds and other gemstones.
Most commonly used in engagement rings are diamonds. As I have said choosing a diamond may be a bit of a task
because you should know their types. The main colors of diamonds include white, yellow, blue, pink and champagne.
Colored diamonds are rare and of course more expensive.
When choosing engagement rings, the cut is also
important. There are round diamonds, princess cut, emerald cut, cushion, heart, marquise, oval, radiant,
Asscher cut and the pear cut. Some people would say the cut of the diamond will
represent the woman who will wear it so be careful in choosing. Even the color of the diamond has meaning. For
this article, I will be discussing the Pear cut engagement rings.
Pear shape diamonds are also known as tear shaped diamonds. Pear shaping diamonds maximize its carat weight so
this kind of cut maximizes the money spent on it. Pear shape engagement rings portray women with individuality.
Because of the shape – half oval half marquise – it is said to symbolize the woman’s traditional and modern
side.
If your girl is a trend setter, unique but also has the traditional romantic side, this is the perfect
engagement ring for her. Because it is odd in shape the wearer will have that sense of uniqueness, and this is what
women want – a stand out ring they can show other friends. Among other cuts this is actually my favorite and I am
sure it will be yours too. So guys I hope that this article will help you in finding the right engagement ring for
your bride to be.
