Are Unique Wedding Bands For Women Acceptable?

If you have just gotten engaged to the woman of your dreams, the second step in the process is to get her a wedding ring. This can be done in many ways.  The husband can go alone and choose a band of his liking and present it to the woman on the date of the wedding.  The husband can also go with the bride to be and pick rings together.  This is common for partners who have been living together for awhile already. 

Alternatively, the woman can pick out both rings alone.  There is no particular proper etiquette for picking out a marriage band.  The band is usually gold or platinum without any designs or stones.  However, in modern times it is not unusual for couples to setting on unique wedding bands for women inlaid with diamonds or carved out of the precious metals in unique styles.

Unique wedding bands help bring a certain charm to the tradition.  If you are thinking of getting something a little different for your fiancée, you should talk about it with her first, unless you are sure she would like what you are going to get. 

 Sometimes couples settle on unique bands based on a similar life experience they have shared together, such as a culture, tradition, religion, etc. For example, if you are both Celtic, you may want to look through selections of unique wedding bands formed with Celtic traditional flavor. Or you could look among wedding bands for women that have a religious air.

If you know what your woman wants, then choosing between hundreds of ladies wedding bands is not going to scare you.  However, if you are not completely sure, it is best you do the choosing together.  You may find rings that are part of a unique set.

It really depends on the case. Unique wedding bands for women are completely acceptable, but you should always double check with the wife if you are not sure of her preferences.
