Diamond Pear Shape Engagement Ring Is a Great Way to Express Your Love

Pear shaped engagement rings or wedding rings are a great way to symbolize your romance. Its one of the unusual shapes for rings hence most of the rings are truly original and unique. Often called a teardrop, pear shaped rings will not have you tearing up at your wedding or ever as the magnificent design of this ring will retain its beauty even after 50 years.

Pear cut engagement rings usually complement small hands with average length fingers. A good length to width ratio of the diamond should be 1.5-1.75. For diamonds, the four Cs should be followed when you’re having your engagement ring made. These are cut, clarity, color, and carat. A good ring doesn’t necessarily mean a large diamond but rather a well cut one. Pear cuts give the diamond a much more elegant feel.

Color is much more of a personal preference and pear shape engagement rings can utilize any diamond color. Commonly used diamonds are white but a diamond with a tint of yellow is also great. Just remember to match the color with its setting. Yellow diamonds would usually go with a gold setting. White diamonds would be very classy with the platinum setting.

Next to consider is the clarity of the diamond. This refers to any flaw in the diamond, both internal and external. Flaws are chips, cracks, black spots, or clouds within the diamond. Blemishes refer to flaws on the surface of the diamond and inclusions refer to internal flaws. Flawless diamonds are rare and would cost a lot. With a pear shape ring, it will cost even higher because of the uniqueness of the shape.

Carat is a measurement for the weight of precious stones. Having a higher carat does not necessarily mean that it’s a good ring but rather it’s the decent combination of the four Cs that can make a pear shape engagement ring truly shine. You can also go for a solitaire set or you can line your pear cut ring with other diamonds or other stones. A nice set would be a large pear paired with two smaller ones that accents the look of the bigger stone.

Diamond pear shape engagement rings are expensive. If you are not prepared to shell out at least $2000, maybe the pear is not for you. Round cut diamonds would be a good substitute as they are much cheaper. I strongly advise against pears that cost below a  $1000 as the poor quality of the stone will really appear. Craftsmanship is also very important and you should browse other jewelers to assess which ring you’d really like. You can also have jewelers create your own ring so that your engagement ring will be truly one of a kind.
