Carat - The size of the stone may significantly determine its cost, but in a colored diamond, the stone's color is of greater importance than its size.  Small stones with so much color are a rare find and these are more expensive than clearer stones even when their carats are bigger. When you want a colorful stone, you can choose a smaller one and pick a setting that will enhance and show the stone's bright colors.

Diamonds are expensive, especially those with color.
